a FOOT in the right direction...

...well, a lot has been happening in our lives since the last post, especially in Chris's department. AS Chris began his master's courses in Public Admin. up here he felt that still this was not the right fit for him. So the SOUL SEARCHING began...

Well there is a hint in the title of where he was lead to...

Give up? Well Chris is now going to be a PODIATRIST when he grows up. (Now for those who are not medical savvy, like I used to not be, a podiatrist is a FOOT doctor).
Some of you may be thinking, didn't he want to do this earlier but decided against it. Yes, that is true, but although he jumped off the path for a bit, he is back on track... FULL force this time.

Chris was quite melancholy in the time when he was trying to decide what he wanted to do with his life. When he decided on this and started to pursue this, I could see the fire come back into him. I am so happy for him and know that this is the right thing. I am so excited for what lays ahead for him (and us!)

Well it has been a whirlwind. In the past two months Chris has completed applications to 4 schools, got 3 interviews and already been accepted into TWO SCHOOLS! However, you may be wondering the location of these schools... well we will either be in SUNNY California or Arizona (but of course the so-cal boy is coming out in Chris and he wants to go back to his roots!).

SO yes...come July we will be MOVING once again. I am not excited about the packing, job hunting or leaving behind what is here in Seattle but I am so excited about the wonderful life we have ahead of us.

All in all, I believe that the Lord works in VERY mysterious ways. I believe that Chris being indecisive with his career was a blessing by allowing us to move up here and let me have the AMAZING opportunity to TEACH which might never had happened. WE have learned so much through these times and I feel VERY blessed.

SO if you have bad feet (like everyone in MY family) just wait about 7 years and then CHRIS will be the man to see!

Wow, that's a big change but so exciting! Congrats on already making into 2 schools - that's crazy! Talon went through some of those same emotions: not knowing if what he was doing was right, feeling dissatisfied, etc. That's a hard time. He eventually found what he loved like Chris, but it's a good time to reflect on life and where you are going/what you want/etc. Glad you worked through it too! Good luck on the new adventures ahead!

Yeah! I was a little shocked when I heard Chris was revisiting the idea but you are right the Lord works in mysterious ways and there was a reason for all of this. We are excited that you may be coming to California! Our kids just love you! Even if you do go to Arizona you'll be a short 5 hour drive away.

Congrats!

Oh, I'm so glad to hear he's excited about it - you have to love what you're doing for the rest of your life! :) I hope you move to California and maybe we'll be by you some day!

By the way, our friends are moving to Issaquah this summer - he's graduating from dental school here at UCSF and going to Univ of Wash for oral surgery school now.

Awesome news! I was hoping you'd say you were moving back to Utah but how lucky you are to move to one of the best places ever- California. Any plans to teach again next year?

Sometimes it takes awhile to figure it all out, but it's OK, and we're so excited for both for both of you to open a new chapter...
