So I have been very lazy with my blogging...I have no good excuse either.
But here is a recap of what has been going on (in no particular order)
1. The GREAT OUTDOORS
I have got to enjoy the beautiful Seattle scenery lately by going on two outdoor field trips with my students and also by doing some hikes in the area. Luckily is has been BEAUTIFUL weather the past week or so... this is when living through all the rain here makes it worth it!
2. Absence makes the heart grow fonder...
back in the beginning of April we got some bad news. To make a long story short, Chris has one lab class he had to take before starting podiatry school in August. We thought he could just do it up here through the community college... well, he couldn't (for silly reasons... don't get me started). Thus the only option was... back to good ol' BYU! So for the past month Chris has been in Utah taking a Spring course, while I have stayed here finishing out my teaching. It has been a REAL struggle being apart for so long. Phone talking just doens't quite seem the same as being together in person! I won't bore you more of my "sob" story... but we are hoping he will be able to finish the semester early and get home in about two weeks! ( Chris will be mad, he didn't want me to post this, because he is so protective, he doesn't want people knowing I am at our place alone).

Well I was able to get away (even though it was a headache getting days off) to visit chris a few weeks ago in Utah. It was a much needed visit, we would not have lasted much longer apart. But it was fun to be back in Provo for a short time, getting to see my old roomies, eating at some missed restertaunts, and most of all being with my hubby!

4. Off to the Races...
I am excited for Chris, he was able to sign up (just barely) to run the Seattle Rack n' Roll half-marathon in June. I am proud of him and how hard he is working, especially since I could NEVER run any race longer than like.... 2 miles, HA! I will definatly post later on how it goes
5. Healthier... I hope
So over the past two months I have tried to work really hard on getting healthy. I posted earlier on some of the thigns I am doing to get healthy. However, I wantd to spread the news about a great website. In order to track my nutrition and exercise each day, I use a site called sparkpeople. It is fabulous- it has soooo many wonderful resources to help people get healthy. I also have been motivated becuase they have a reward system (works for competitive me)! I highly recommend you check it out. I thought I knew quite a bit before about healthy eating... but boy was I wrong!
6. Memorial Day
With Chris being gone, I have spent a lot of time with my family. So for memeorial day we headed to seattle. My dad just started a new job downtown so we helped him move in his stuff to his office and hten headed to the Wharf. It was a beautiful day and was great to walk along the water!
7. Big news for a Big Brother
I hope my brother won't mind... but Brandon got ENGAGED a couple weeks ago. I am SOOOO happy for him and his fiance Hiedi. She is a perfect fit for him and he got lucky to snag such a great girl. They will be getting married over the LAbor Day weekend! I am excited to have a new sister-in-law and to have a married sibling now!
8. Developing Talents
I am soooo excited. I have really enjoyed my DSLR camera I got for Christmas and I take it almost everywhere (even though it is bulky). However, I will admit, I don't ahve great skills to go along with such a great camera. I have wanted to take some classes, but just haven't found a good opportunity. However, last week I was so excited when Nicole Hill Gerulat announced she is doing a photo class in SEATTLE (of all places). I have admired her work and some other friends have taken her classes and loved them. So hopefully after that I will have "some" skill and some great pictures!
I just can't beleive how fast May has flown by! I hope to be a bit better with posting in June!
