We too have been watching some of the winter games, especially the highlights for team USA! I usually only make an effort to try and watch figure skating. But a past few winter Olympics I added speed skating since everyone in my hometown of Seattle had OHNO Fever, soul patches included, for our fellow Seattle-ite Apollo Anton Ohno.
Chris, however is a bit more of an active view with the games. He gets into learning about all the sports and their players/teams. He made me realize how cool it is to watch these people do amazing feats and especially to see TEAM USA bring home the golds.
However, there is one sport in particular that Chris has fallen in love with. I was bit taken a back when he started showing interest. You would never guess which one he loves.
No- it is not the dare-devil, gravity-defying half pipe...
Neither is it the glitz and glam and DRAMA of men's figure skating...
Not even the super G, skeleton, luge, or biathalon.
His new favorite sport is one that involves: ends, hits, hammer, shot rock, the house, and a hog line. Got a GUESS?

Yes, Chris thoroughly enjoys (no joke) the sport of Curling. I thought he was joking when he said it intrigued him, but soon realized that he wasn't when he gave me the play by play of what was happening today when we watched it... using all the correct terminology. If I was explaining the sport I would have said things like "those big scrub brushes" "rock with a handle" and "shuffle board on ice", which is far from what it truly is.
Chris loves it so much he made time to watch the whole men's match today, even though he has a HUGE test on Monday and had not stop to watch really any other television. He even mentioned that he wants to try curling someday.
So who knows... maybe 2014 will include a new participant on the USA men's team... JONES!
