"So" a needle pulling thread

So for my birthday I have been wanting a sewing machine. I've wanted one for a long time and have been dreaming of the possibilities of what one might hold. So I found a really good deal on a highly recommended sewing machine online at amazon.com. I sent the link to my mom... hinting as a possible birthday gift.

Well to sum it up we were worried the deal would go away so my mom got it now and then she didn't want to pay for shipping twice so she had it shipped strait to me... hence a very awesome EARLY birthday gift!!!

So since Chris is back in school full force and I haven't started subbing yet I have had a lot of time on my hands so I have had lots of projects.

First I embroidered (by hand- not machine) this onsie for our friends/neighbors who just had a baby boy- Cohan.

My nephew, Sawyer, was having a Toy Story Birthday party so I made him an Alien stuffed animal with felt and a bag for him to put the alien or other toys in.

I have been very excited about a sewing machine too so that I can start making clothes. My first attempt was to make this skirt. I made another one too in Grey fabric. They were quite easy... but I definitely need to keep working at refining my skills.

This of course has got me back on a Project Runway kick... maybe now I can keep working to my dream of someday being a fashion designer...hah!

Cute projects! How fun to have a machine. I bought fabric and elastic about a month ago to make two of those kind of skirts....but I still haven't done it! Hopefully soon...

YEAH! My sewing machine is my favorite purchase ever, both of them. I'm so happy you have this hobby too!! I only wished we lived closer to sew together, these days it's hard to find a sewing buddy! I'm sure your clothes will be amazing! I'd love to be a children's clothing designer -(when I grow up:)

All of these are really SO cute. I've seen so many fun designs for skirts that don't seem too hard. Yours looks darling. I've always wanted to learn how to sew! Someday...someday...

Cute projects! I love the skirt you made! Did you have a pattern for it or did you just wing it?
