Happy Birthday to... CHRIS

I picked Chris up from class and we drove out to the ONLY close Pei Wei for lunch. He is the birthday boy with the yummy honey crispy chicken!

I took Chris back to classes (after he changed into his "business attire") and I had him quickly open his gifts in the car... so anti-climatic. Here is his new laptop case.

In order for Chris to apply his FREE birthday ticket to his Disneyland Pass I got Chris after work and we zipped over to the Happiest Place on Earth. It was closing in like an hour, so we decided to hope on Space Mountain since it was closed when we went on my b-day. We had to wait in the looong line but it was fun!

Here is Chris trying to impersonate a "ghost" to fit in with the new Halloween Space Mountain Ride. (Can you spot the matterhorn in the back?).

Waiting in Line...

I love Chris's face in this picture... it makes him look like he was really scared and I look "great" with my eyes closed... I wasn't scared but my eyes were watering like crazy from all the cold air being pumped out.

I want my wonderful Husband to know how much I love him and am so glad that he was born 27 years ago!

A GOLDEN BIRTHDAY

Ok, if you really know me, you know I am a kid at heart... I love children's books, I choose to watch Wizards of Waverly Place over like Grey's Anatomy (or some other adult show), I enjoy playing with kid's toys with my nieces and nephews, and I LOOOOVE Disneyland. So of course naturally, all I wanted to do for my birthday was go to Disneyland!

Also, we wanted to go because you get in FREE on your birthday... any if you buy a season's pass they will credit your FREE ticket to your price pass. So I am officially a Disney pass holder again! So I will probably be a frequent visitor of the Happiest Place on Earth.

So it was a VERY hot day...but because it was a school day and coupled with the heat it was not crowded... SCORE! We were able to hit all the major rides in California Adventures in under two hours. The longest we waited in line all day was like 10 minutes. The only bummer was the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain were closed so they could get it ready for "Halloween".

Of course the first matter of business was to get my BIRTHDAY button! I have always wanted to wear one.. but never had the chance. It is so great, all the Disney Workers (cast members) said "Happy Birthday" to me throughout the day, it made me feel special.

So many people know about the Mission Tortilla Tour at California Adventures where they will give you a free tortilla... and if it is your birthday they many times will give you a whole bag of tortillas (which I got!). Well right across from the tortilla shop is the Boudin Sourdough Tour. Well, if I could only live off one food for the rest of my life it would be SOURDOUGH! So we had to check out the tour. Well as we walked in they gave us a small, tiny slice of bread. You sit and watch a movie on the history and process. I almost walked out... but I am so glad I didn't at the end of the tour there was a Cast Member handing out WHOLE loafs of Mickey-shaped bread. Chris and I BOTH got one. I was in heaven. So next time you are there check it out!
Here are some of the cute Halloween Decorations they have put up. Chris is enjoying the Candy Corn Cactus! So CUTE!
So Chris's highlight of the day was finally beating me at Toy Story Mania ride (which is our FAVORITE!). On both toy story and Buzz rides I always get a higher score... so finally he beat me. Yeah... you would think a good husband would let his wife win on her birthday... think again!!!

Check out the Small World Tower in Chris's Glasses!
(I love the happy feeling I get after this ride... cheesy I know... but go world unity!)

Chris was very upset that I blocked his face in the Splash Mountain picture...especially since his pose was "so funny"... I guess he was pretending to yawn. By the way... we got SOAKED!

But after hitting all the major rides we were ready to go. We strolled through Downtown Disney. We didn't want to drive home in rush hour traffic so we decided to head for the beach for dinner. We ate at BJ's (our traditional stop) at Huntington Beach and also made sure to stop by Jack's.

It was a great day... at wonderful way to celebrate my "golden" birthday (24 years old on the 24th). I appreciate all the birthday love I got too!

A Mighty Mickey Celebration!

So on Saturday the family all got together to celebrate Sawyer's 3rd birthday! It was a Mickey Mouse theme, complete with mickey music, cookies, figurines and more. It was great to be with family, relax, and watch Sawyer open his presents (oh the joy little kids have with presents... OH WAIT I get just as giddy as a three year old when I open presents too!).

The big 5-0!

(better late then never, been awhile since I have posted!)

My mom turned the big 5-0 last month, which we all know is a pretty big deal! On he real birthday we celebrated just with the family with a low-key dinner outing. Well, Mom thought this was it...little did she know!

About two weeks later we threw her a surprise party. My dad had gotten a lodge about an hour from our house for the party. We told her we were just going up to spend the weekend with her family (who all live on the other side of WA). Now this was true, however that first night we had invited some of her closest friends up to surprise her.

I thought for sure she would catch on to the surprise with all the cars at this lodge, but she was clueless. She had a great night and was really surprised. I am glad we got to show her how much everyone loves her and how graeful we are for her 50 years here on this earth! I am very proud of my mom and all she does... I mean she has to be the BEST looking 50 year old out there!

We had a great rest of the weekend with extended family. Chris and I's favorite part was that the owners of the lodge had a HUGE Bernese Mountain Dog, our favorite breed of dog. He was beautiful and a perfectly-behaved dog... I had to be held back from stealing him when we left!

Our March Man and our April Fool!

March Man= Philip Kevin Bussey.... Birthday is March 30th
April Fool= Brandon Philip Bussey.... Birthday is April 1st

So... of course with these two wonderful men in our family turning one year older we headed out for a nice dinner to celebrate. We ate at Pagacha's and had a great time talking and enjoying each others company.

Here we are at dinner:
l to r: Paydan, My dad, Kasey (one of my dad's old mish companions who happened to be in town), My mom, Brandon, Heidi, Me and Chris.

Then we headed back home to open presents and have "cake". Here is a "montage" (I like that fancy word... if Fancy Nancy were here she would say that is a fancy word for a whole bunch of pictures):

We got my dad some Harley Davidson gear... since the big purchase of a bike is in his NEAR future (after waiting "patiently" for it for YEARS!) and gave my brother a "Double Date Extraveganza"

Thanks for being such a wonderful DAD and BROTHER!

Happy Belated Birthday

Ok, so this is like a week late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Brother Brandon.
He turned the big quarter of a century old! WOW!

Well lets just say a bit of laziness combined with creativity produces a Rice Krispies Cake.

And here is the birthday boy blowing out the candles!

Thank For being a Wonderful Brother !!!

a very belated birthday

...so my old roomies, Camille and Elyse, took me out to celebrate my birthday (which was in September, but better let than never). We all have been so busy so finally this weekend we were able to find time to celebrate and we always love excuses to get together.
First Camille and I went and got pedicures! it was lots of fun, then we met up with Elyse at Maglebee's for some wonderful food.

September is the BEST month to be born!

So most would agree that September is the best month to be born, right? Well at least us in the Jones household would say so. This may all be due to the fact that both our birthday fall within this WONDERFUL month, and it doesn't hurt that the best season of the year, autumn is also during this time.
Anyway, our birthdays were wonderful, nice and relaxing! For my birthday (9/24) we filled the day with activities I love: eating, shopping, going to the movies and lounging around and watching TV and eating delicious ice cream cake! It was a great day and I appreciate all the wonderful birthday wishes!
For Chris's birthday (9/29), which I must point out was his quarter century birthday (which he was VERY excited about), unfortunately I was a bad wife and was busying during the morning with an educational conference I had to attend. However, I tried to make it up to him. We went to his favorite restaurant...CHILIES for lunch and then I came back and gave him his gifts. He was excited to find that he is now completely outfitted for his new found love, Golf. He finally was given a bag to hold the clubs my dad passed down to him. Also, he finally got the defining piece of everyone's golf collection... a driver! And of course he wasn't left without gloves, balls and tees. (You can see his gear pictured above). Well the originally plan was to go out and use his new equipment but it was a miserable day with rain and cold temperatures. So we decided to stay indoors and do one of Chris's other favorite activities, watch college football. But don't worry he still took some swings with his new driver in our apartment, which was scary in our small little place, but luckily nothing was broken. And of course we ended the night with his favorite meal, chicken stroganoff and watching the BYU game, which thankfully they won.
So thanks again to all for the birthday wishes, we really appreciate it!
