The reason for the lack of posts last week was because Chris and I were on a little VACATION!
Basically this was our gift to ourselves for graduating!
We went to New York for about 6 days and stayed in New Jersey with some good friends, Jon and Leah. We had a blast and got to do so many fun things! Let me tell you though, if you are planning a big trip to NY pack your walking shoes! Chris thinks we walked like a total of like 40 miles! We especially walked so much because we were too cheap to take taxis or ride the subway very often.
I figure pictures are worth a thousand words so why not use our pictures to tell you what we did.
SO HERE ARE THE FIRST TWO DAYS. (sorry we got a little picture crazy){Sunday}
We left Saturday night and took a red eye which got in Sunday morning. It was quite an adventure taking all the different modes of transportation to get us to our friends house.
Here we are on the Hudson looking over to the New York side on a Sunday Afternoon walk. Our friends live in Hoboken, which is a very cute city just on the other side of the river. Each day we would walk to the Path Train to go over to the city. As you can see we had beautiful weather while we were there (except for one day).{Monday}
This was our first day in the city and we hit up a lot of the tourist-y sites. Above Chris is chomping away at his hotdog from the street vendor, a classic in NY.{Monday}
This is beautiful, busy Bryant Park. I just love how in this HUGE and frantic city you can find these great parks throughout. I was excited to see this park because I listen to a NPR Podcast (yeah I know I'm a dork) that is broadcast from here!{Monday}
Ok first off, please ignore the horrible picture of me and focus on the EMPIRE state building in the background! Also to the right of me is the NY public library which is BEAUTIFUL!!!{Monday}
Here we are outside of Grand Central Station, which is another beautiful building. We shot some pics inside but they all turned out dark (I guess that's what we get with a pretty basic digital camera). Also earlier we got to go to a H&M, hence the shopping bag. We were pretty excited to finally go because there are very few and none close by and they do not have online shopping. It was a good store, but honestly I think I built it up to be better than it really was.{Monday} Here is Chris and Jon in front of the Rockefeller Rink, which is a restaurant in the spring/summer and then the famous ice rink in the winter.
{Monday}
Here we are by the NBC studios and Radio City Music hall (think Rockettes).
{Monday}
All three pictures above were taken in the HUGE FAO Swartz Toy Store. We had to take this pictures for my little brother who loves LEGOS. If you can't tell all of the above characters are completely constructed out of legos, pretty cool huh?!{Monday}
We couldn't resist taking a picture on the "BIG" piano.{Monday}
In BEAUTIFUL central park. I think Central Park was one of our favorite places we went!{Monday}
So Central Park is really just like any other park, animals and all! Here is a raccoon and that was just hanging out in a tree in the park! Where would all the raccoons go if there wasn't Central Park?
{Monday}
Here I am in Central Park Looking back into the city, it still amazes me the juxtaposition of the BIG city and the BEAUTIFUL park.{Monday}
Inside the HUGE m&m store, just pick your favorite color!{Monday}
TIMES SQUARE! I felt like it was still daytime while we were in Times Square because it is SO bright from all the lights! And boy is it busy down there!
Can you tell we packed a TON in on MONDAY.
I will post more soon!

NYC is one of my favorite places! It is such a magical place! We stayed in the hotel right next to Bryant Park when we went. I can't believe how much you did in one day! Can't wait to hear about the other days.
