Ok so here is the next installment in our NY pictures... since I know you have all been just WAITING for them, ha.{Wednesday}
So we thought we should venture into some other parts of New York and we thought no better way then to head to the Bronx to watch the Yankees. No don't you fret all you yankee-haters out there, we just went purely for the experience, not because we love the Yankees. And well boy was it an experience. We sat in the bleachers, or cheap seats, and well its a bit of a rougher crowd out there. It was a big contrast to sitting in my dad's work's tickets to the mariners with nice, subdued crowds.{Wednesday}
Yankees game...view of the field.{Thursday}
For Thursday the agenda was SoHo, Greenwich Village, and back to Times square for a show.
Here is Chris enjoying some authentic New York pizza at the famous Lambardi's pizzeria. It was pretty good, but Chris was thoroughly upset that this establishment, with many others in NY, do not have FREE refills. Come on, didn't the whole no refill thing end years ago!{Thursday}
Ok sorry for the overzealous face, its a bit scary. But honestly it was a pretty authentic face, yes... I was that happy. Right by the pizza place was a Pinkberry. Now we have heard many things about this famous pinkberry but had yet to try it. I figured it must be pretty good in order to inspire the supposed frozen yogurt crazy that is beginning to even infiltrate Utah. Ok, well unlike H&M, this place did not disappoint. This is a wonderful way to appease a sweet craving but in a healthier way. The whole things just felt... FRESH. We got the traditional pinkberry with raspberries, strawberries, and kiwi. No unlike another other place, they are VERY generous with their toppings (or at least our server was). Nothing like Fresh Fruit with yummy yogurt. (If we move to California I think this could become a full blown obsession, having one so close).{Thursday}
Here is Chris on a street in Little Italy... not quite like stepping in to the real thing but close.{Thursday}
So of course we had to see a show on BROADWAY... I mean the first thing people ask you after being to NY is "What shows did you see?". So I am proud to report that we saw TWO shows (more on the second one later). We went to SPAMALOT which is basically the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail set to music on stage. It was pretty darn funny! Much like the movie, with coconuts, killer rabbits, the knights who say "nee" and all! ( ***disclaimer: if you are going to go see this show be warned that there are a few crass parts, I wouldn't take the children to this one). Anyway, can you spot my handsome husband above. He is the second French knight from the top.{Thursday}
Here we are out front!{Thursday}
The two pictures above were both taken after the play. We trekked over to Rockefeller again to head to the "top of the rock". You can pay to go up to the top of the building and see AMAZING views. The green building in the back is oh course the Empire State Building. It was funny to see this huge "dark" spot in the view, which was Central Park, the only part without Blazing city lights.{Friday}
Umm... I might say this smile is a bit forced, probably because it was POURING rain. I can;t complain, we had beautiful weather all week except for this day. However, it did damper our plans a bit. We were going to take the ferry to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island but we knew it would be miserable in the rain. So yes we went all the way to NY and didn't even see the Statue of Liberty. Anyway, this picture is Chris with the New York Stock Exchange in the back.{Friday}
A picture of the bull! (ok if anyone knows the exact reason or meaning of this bull, please indulge me, because we are not quite sure.){Friday}
Ok, don't blame us.. its the camera. But here we are at show # 2... the Little Mermaid! As you can see we scored some great student tickets for only 25 dollars and sat like 10 rows back! It was great. This show is lots of fun and the sets, costumes and props are simply AMAZING. Also, it was cool because all the sea characters wore those heely shoes to make it look like they were gliding along and swimming. Highly recommend this one, especially for kids!{Friday}
Alright so we came all the way to NY to watch the Lakers. If you don't know already, Chris is a Lakers FANATIC. You can tell from his "cool" Kobe shirt he got at the NBA store (which he made us go back to in order to get laker shorts, which he has proceeded to wear every night since returning home). Anyway, after the show we scooted over (humming "under the sea") to the huge ESPN sports zone to watch the game on a HUGE screen. What a man will do for his sports.
SO there is the sum of our Trip... it was a great get-a-way from the stress of the real world that is looming before us as we have BIG decisions to make here. It was great to be with our friends Jon and Leah who were great hosts. We had so much fun and it was cool to see all the places that we see countless of times in movies and hear about. What great memories!

Coooool! Looks like you guys had a BLAST! And I would kill to see the Little Mermaid. :)
Ok, first of all - Chris is 3rd from the top - not 2nd!! Hahaha!
And fyi...
"The 3 1/2 ton bronze statue of a "Charging Bull" was sculptor Arturo Di Modica's artistic statement about the stock market's Black Monday in Oct 1987. Without permission, Di Modica placed the bull on Wall Street in 1989. It was moved a few blocks southwest to Bowling Green Park at the end of Broadway."
thank you very much, i did not write that, but thought it was interesting.
I'm so glad you guys had such a fun time! Too bad it was raining but you did get to see a lot of really cool stuff.
ha, the Spamelot pic of Chris is a winner.
Also, the Lakers shirt was a good find. Thankfully they pulled through the other night - I thought Chris was on the verge of a heart attack for a while! You guys are adorable p.s.
Tell me what you think!
