May 2013

May was a busy but very memorable month for us.  Here is what happened...

SOAKING UP SEATTLE
Since Chris was graduating this month he had a lot of time off.  So we tried to soak up as much time as we could enjoying Seattle before we had to move in June.

So one BEAUTIFUL sunny Saturday we headed down to Pike's Place Market.  We did some shopping, got some of the great, cheap, flowers and also some art prints to put up in our new place in California (to remember Seattle).

Another Sunny Seattle day (how lucky are we!) we got some yummy, famous TOP POT donuts for breakfast and then headed to the Issaquah Farmer's Market.  It was fun to go and walk around, especially since it was in the same place, Pickering Barn, where we had our wedding reception.

GRADUATION
I took a week off work :)  to head down to California with Chris for his graduation and also for a fun graduation trip with some of our other friends who graduated too.

Our first night there we went to the dinner Banquet in Pasadena for the Podiatry Graduating Class.  It was pretty fun to get all dressed up, eat dinner, do a little dancing, be with our friends in the program, and take lots of fun pictures in the picture booth.  We stayed the night at a hotel in Pasadena and got up early the next morning for Chris' graduation.

(I did a whole post on graduation- click here)

PALM SPRINGS
Then that next day after graduation we met up with Shayne and Seth (another Podiatry Grad) to ride with them to Palm Springs for a fun graduation getaway.  We rented a fun, mid-century modern, house out there.   We stayed a few days and our friends the Scott and Lindsey and also Tiffany and Brian (an Optometry Grad) joined us for part of the time.  We had so much fun playing in the pool, going out to eat, shopping, watching movies, playing ladder ball and more!

OTHER HAPPENINGS

Chris got to enjoy having time off before he starts residency in June. I continued to be super busy teaching at Clark.  I did get a chance to sneak down to dinner with my high school friends. We had to keep tradition alive and head to Benihanas.  It was fun to catch up and be with them, especially before I had to move.  We missed Laura not being able to be there. I feel lucky to have had these wonderful girls in my life for 15 years!  I also got some new reading glasses- one of the pros of being a teacher is good benefits!
